Burns & McDonnell in Orlando, FL is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer to lead the design of complex transmission line projects, provide technical oversight, and guide design staff. Your role includes applying NESC/NERC standards, conducting conductor studies, and reviewing vendor drawings.

You will develop budgets, proposals, and project plans while mentoring engineers and building strong client relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil eng degree and 7 years in transmission engineering.
• Alternatively, ABET-accredited degree with FE and 7 years in transmission engineering.
• Master's degree with 6 years in transmission engineering.
• Strong knowledge of transmission design codes and CAD tools.

Responsabilités

• Lead transmission design from concept through design completion.
• Prepare equipment specs, RFQs, and technical bid summaries.
• Lead conductor selection studies and grounding calculations.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, NERC, and regional requirements.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate with field teams.
• Manage project scope, budget, and staffing plans.
• Provide leadership and QA/QC across projects.
