Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Orlando is seeking a Project Manager to lead a program of transmission and substation projects, coordinating planning, permitting, procurement, construction, and closeout to meet scope, schedule, and budget.

The role requires strong client and stakeholder management, ability to lead multiple projects, travel up to 50%, and PMP is preferred. You will report to the Lead Project Manager/Program Manager and collaborate with project teams, regulators, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, business, or related field plus 7 years of progressive project or program management experience.
• Experience managing projects through multiple lifecycle phases: planning, design/engineering, procurement, construction, closeout.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, priorities, teams, and stakeholders.
• PMP certification preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall management of projects from development through construction and closeout, coordinating planning, siting, environmental, permitting, estimating, engineering, and procurement.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned projects and maintain communication between client, project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Drive project schedules, manage scope, identify dependencies, and coordinate activities to meet milestones and in-service dates.
• Maintain detailed cost forecasts, accruals, commitments, and overall financial performance.
• Identify, track, communicate, and manage risks, changes, and decisions impacting scope, schedule, cost, or execution.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and ensure deliverables and dates are clearly communicated.
• Facilitate project meetings and stakeholder coordination, track actions and follow up to ensure commitments are met.
• Support procurement, contractor coordination, bid activities, change management, and construction readiness as required.
