Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 10 years of railway engineering experience, including management of complex multidisciplinary projects.
• Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams on railroad or transit projects.
• Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager and/or Discipline Lead for railroad, transit, and civil engineering design projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate technical deliverables across engineering disciplines.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, design criteria, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform and oversee railroad, transit, and civil engineering planning, analysis, and design.
• Lead detailed quality control and technical reviews of project deliverables.
• Work directly with clients, stakeholders, agencies, contractors, and project partners.
• Participate in client meetings, site visits, field assessments, and construction inspections.
• Support business development, marketing, and contracting activities.
• Represent the firm at industry conferences, events, and client meetings.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineering staff.
• Provide technical leadership across railroad, transit, civil, industrial, terminal, utility, DOT, port, and agency projects.
• Travel periodically for client meetings, site assessments, and construction activities.
