Job summary

HDR's Transportation Business Group in New York seeks a Senior Technical Advisor-Transit Planning to lead interdisciplinary transit projects, shaping safer, efficient mobility for communities.

You will mentor staff, provide subject matter expertise on NEPA and project development, and help grow HDR's NY/NJ market while maintaining strong client relationships and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years in transit engineering or related field.
• Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills; able to document and present findings.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary transit planning projects with diverse teams.
• Provide expertise to project teams in FTA/FRA Project Development/NEPA.
• Troubleshoot delivery issues and support resolution planning.
• Conduct project and quality control reviews.
• Mentor staff and promote technical excellence.
• Collaborate with practice group leaders to maintain a competitive practice.
• Support NY/NJ market growth and client relationships.
• Assist planning pursuits in the Northeast with technical and proposals.
