Job summary

Transdev is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee a team of mechanics, washers, utility staff and administrative personnel at the MDW RAC location with base in Bedford Park, IL. The role focuses on safe, efficient maintenance of heavy-duty transit equipment and coordination with vendors and operations.

The ideal candidate will bring 7+ years in maintenance, 3+ years of supervision, CDL Class B preferred, and strong MS Office skills to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in repair and maintenance of heavy-duty automotive and transit equipment
• 3+ years of supervisory experience
• CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Able to work shifts or flexible schedules
• DOT drug testing and physical per DOT 49 CFR Part 40 compliance

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and schedule Maintenance Technicians
• Approve priority of maintenance/repairs based on parts and operations
• Oversee work by outside vendors
• Ensure equipment is maintained and operating efficiently
• Manage inventory
• Implement safety policies per corporate requirements
• Participate in development/administration of the budget
• Identify opportunities for service delivery improvements
• Travel 10% outside the immediate area
