Job summary

Prolec GE Waukesha is seeking a Test Manager to lead the transformer testing organization, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery of testing activities for large power transformers. You will champion continuous improvement, manage Supervisors, Test Engineers, and Maintenance teams, and ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, ANSI, and customer requirements.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to raise product reliability, support FATs, and drive test system

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience conducting electrical testing in a manufacturing, utility, or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transformer testing organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives, quality standards, customer requirements, and production commitments.
• Lead and develop testing personnel, including Supervisors, Test Engineers, and the Equipment Maintenance Team by defining expectations, setting goals, and creating development and succession plans.
• Establish department priorities, resource plans, staffing strategies, and capital investment requirements to support current and future business needs.
• Drive safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and continuous improvement objectives across the testing function.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, ANSI, and customer-specific testing requirements.
• Serve as the technical authority on transformer testing, diagnostics, and standards interpretation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and act as the primary customer-facing technical expert for testing-related matters.
• Provide executive oversight of root cause investigations and corrective actions related to test failures, quality issues, and customer concerns.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends, and evolving standards.
• Represent the organization in relevant industry associations and standards bodies, including IEEE and IEC, as appropriate.
