Job summary

RMS Energy Co. is seeking a Lead Transformer Technician to direct and coordinate daily field activities for installation, assembly, maintenance, repair, and testing of power transformers across substations, plants, and industrial sites in the continental USA.

The role emphasizes safety, schedule adherence, and quality, with responsibility for on-site liaison with supervisors and project managers. Extensive travel and CDL may be required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of transformer assembly, installation, maintenance, and/or field service experience.
• Experience leading or directing crews on job sites.
• Ability to travel up to 80% throughout continental USA.
• Hold a valid and current driver's license with a clean driving record; Class A CDL preferred.
• OSHA certification and TWIC card are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform field work involving installation, assembly, maintenance, repair, and testing of transformers and related equipment.
• Direct and coordinate daily crew activities, assign tasks, ensure work aligns with scope and schedule.
• Serve as on-site contact for supervisors, project managers, and stakeholders.
• Ensure safety compliance including LOTO and PPE; monitor safety and environment requirements.
• Review drawings, procedures, and specifications; oversee testing and basic diagnostics.
• Help with field documentation and reports; communicate issues and corrective actions.
