Job summary

RMS Energy in Florida seeks a Transformer Technician Supervisor to lead field teams in transformer assembly, testing, and service for critical energy infrastructure projects across the United States. You will supervise installation and maintenance, mentor junior technicians, and uphold safety and quality standards while handling oil processing, component replacement, and advanced electrical testing.

Willingness to travel up to 80% is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in transformer oil work, testing, assembly, or service.
• Experience managing large projects and multiple crews.
• Experience performing site walks and quoting jobs.
• Experience interpreting scopes, drawings, and technical documents.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and online platforms.

Responsibilities

• Supervise transformer assembly, including radiators, bushings, conservators, and accessories.
• Lead degassing operations, pressure/vacuum testing, and oil sampling procedures.
• Manage re-gasketing and O-ring fabrication, and installation.
• Oversee teardown and prep of damaged units for transport or disposal.
• Troubleshoot and repair transformer control wiring and ensure safety and reliability.
• Conduct advanced transformer testing: Megger, TTR, SFRA, Power Factor.
