Job summary

Central Moloney is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, develop and review mechanical aspects of distribution transformers from a remote U.S. location. You will work on tank assemblies, cooling systems and accessories within IEEE/CSA/ANSI framework.

You will perform structural and thermal analyses, create 3D models, prepare drawings and BOMs, and collaborate across engineering teams to drive ongoing product improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in design engineering of electrical distribution equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD/FEA and transformer design standards.
• Ability to interpret IEEE/CSA/ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and review mechanical specs for distribution transformers.
• Develop tank, core-coil frame assemblies and cooling systems.
• Perform structural, thermal and tolerance calculations.
• Verify bushing locations, clearances and layouts.
• Create manufacturing drawings and BOMs.
• Support product development and standardization initiatives.
