Job summary

South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) seeks a Training Coordinator to assist the Training Lieutenant in day-to-day management of the department's training and Deputy Law Enforcement Officer (DLEO) programs.

You will coordinate and implement comprehensive training, maintain records, and act as a liaison with SCCJA and host facilities. A high school diploma and four years as a DNR Class I officer are required.

Qualifications

• Accredited SCCJA instructor or complete 80-hour Basic Instructor Course.
• 2) Certified Firearms Instructor and Rifle Instructor.
• 3) Proficient in word processing and graphics software.
• 4) Administrative, management and supervisory skills.
• 5) Ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day management of the training department and DLEO programs.
• Assist with coordinating training programs (In-Service, SCCJA, Specialized Training).
• Maintain training records for DNR LEOs and DLEOs.
• Serve as liaison between SCCJA and training unit; ensure applicants are registered.
• Coordinate and serve as Cadre for DNR Basic Training for new employees.
• Coordinate DNR firearms training for In-Service and Basic Training.
• Serve as Lead Armorer for all departmental firearms.
• Coordinate lesson plans and Wildlife Basic & MLE training.
• Liaise with host training facilities to schedule dates and housing.
• Schedule ranges for training.
• Handle special assignments as directed.
