Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Minimum five years of certified law enforcement service time.
• Promotional examination within two years of closing date.
• Residency requirements within four months; must reside within 60 minutes of Richland County.

Responsibilities

• Instruct SCHP officers at Basic, In-Service and Advanced Training levels.
• Complete required instructor certifications and recertifications.
• Mentor and guide trainees and staff to maintain a positive learning environment.
• Develop, update, or rewrite lesson plans for Patrol Training Unit.
• Research new trends and innovative training programs.
