Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus Georgia P.O.S.T General Instructor certification.
• Three years of full-time instructor work-related experience in peace officer, correctional, fire service, EMS, or rescue topics, with one year in a lead/trainer/supervisory role.
• Eligible to obtain required Georgia P.O.S.T. specialty instructor certifications or similar certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff.
• Manages safety program for training and day-to-day operations of assigned training region or programs.
• Prepares and administers budget for program and develops staff training curricula.
• Oversees development and delivery of curricula that meet DJJ standards and coordinates instructor schedules and assignments.
• Ensures compliance with statewide training curricula, standards, and reporting; oversees LMS data entry and reporting.

Education

Georgia P.O.S.T. General Instructor certification

High school diploma / GED

American Heart Association Instructor Certification

P.O.S.T. certification as a peace officer
