Job summary

The Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a Training Program Manager for the Central Office in Decatur, GA. This role directs training programs, supervises staff, develops curricula, and ensures safety and compliance with DJJ standards.

The position leads regional training activities, coordinates instructors, and manages budgets and course materials. Ideal candidates have instructor certifications, leadership experience, and a strong background in training delivery within public safety or

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement includes high school diploma or GED and peace officer related instructor certifications.
• At least three years of full-time instructor experience, with one year in a lead/trainer role.
• Eligibility to obtain Georgia POST specialty instructor certifications and related peace officer certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises curriculum development, review, and delivery ensuring DJJ standards are followed.
• Assigns instructors and manages schedules, develops instructors' calendars, and reviews progress.
• Determines statewide training curricula and standards to meet legal mandates and professional benchmarks.
• Oversees Regional Training Coordinators and Facility Based Trainers/Adjunct Faculty, ensuring quality delivery.
• Manages timesheets, leave requests, schedules, and administrative accountability for direct reports.
