Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Project Manager to join our team in Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR. You will lead complex traffic engineering projects, grow our regional practice, and mentor staff while building client relationships across the Pacific Northwest.

The role requires a PE license in WA and OR and 12+ years of experience, with a strong focus on bus/handbook standards, business development, and cross-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license in Washington and Oregon required.
• 12+ years of progressive traffic engineering experience, including project management.
• Proven business development experience and client relationship skills.
• Strong knowledge of WSDOT, ODOT, MUTCD, and local agency design standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, analysis, and design of traffic engineering projects for local agencies, municipalities, and state DOT clients.
• Manage projects from proposal through construction, ensuring delivery on schedule and within budget.
• Develop and review traffic operations studies, corridor studies, and safety assessments.
• Support private development clients with Traffic Impact Analyses and related studies.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to project teams.
• Coordinate with clients, agency staff, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver solutions.
