Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Traffic Project Manager in Phoenix, AZ. The role requires leading traffic projects, coordinating engineers, and managing client relations across design and production meetings.

You will oversee PS&E packages for traffic signals, ITS, and signing, while performing traffic projections and safety analyses. Success factors include a strong background in traffic operations, use of Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, and VISSIM, and proven leadership capabilities; PE license is required

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
10+ years related experience; project management experience preferred.
PE license in Arizona (or obtained within 6 months).
Master's degree preferred; PTOE/PTP/RSP certifications preferred.
Experience with traffic operational analysis tools (Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS, VISSIM).
Strong leadership, communication, and business development skills.

Responsibilities

Plan and manage small to medium planning projects or large, routine projects.
Coordinate engineers and balance planning team through project development.
Establish client relations and participate in meetings (marketing, contractual, design, production).
Interact with agencies for code compliance and coordinate with multiple disciplines.
Lead PS&E development and ITS, traffic signals, signing, and MOT design.
Perform traffic analysis and photometric analysis as required.
Prepare technical memorandums and reports for clients and internal use.
Mentor junior engineers and work with project controllers.
