Job summary

WSP USA in Maryland is seeking a licensed traffic engineer to provide technical guidance for investigation, planning, design, and operation of streets and highways across multiple sites. You will lead a cross-disciplinary team and perform capacity analyses, traffic signal design, and prepare technical reports to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related discipline.
5–7 years of post-education engineering and traffic design experience.
Engineer in Training Certification.
Knowledge of DOT advisory circulars and procedures.
Proficient in traffic engineering, capacity analysis, and related design processes.

Responsibilities

Perform professional traffic engineering work and investigations of site conditions, intersections, and transportation corridors.
Develop concepts for intersection and corridor improvements and coordinate with authorities and clients.
Design traffic signal improvements and real-time corridor operations.
Prepare technical reports, data visualizations, and presentations.
Ensure QA/QC and compliance with permits, regulations, and safety standards.
