Job summary

H&H is seeking a Traffic Group Manager to lead traffic engineering, planning, and mobility projects across the New York Metropolitan Area. The role requires managing multidisciplinary teams, providing technical oversight, and delivering high-quality studies and designs.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate with clients and agencies, and ensure compliance with MUTCD, HCM, and AASHTO standards while supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• PE license in New York
• PTOE and/or PTP certification preferred
• Minimum of ten years of experience in traffic engineering
• Familiarity with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, Nassau/Suffolk/Westchester County standards
• Experience managing transportation projects and multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency with traffic analysis software and design tools

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and staff resource management for traffic projects in the NY Metropolitan Area
• Perform intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, and SimTraffic
• Lead traffic impact studies, transportation planning studies, and operational analyses
• Direct signalized/intersection design, roundabouts, interchanges, and geometrics
• Oversee traffic signal design and timing analysis, signing and striping plans
• Lead traffic calming and multimodal transportation initiatives
• Support intermodal mobility hub planning and transit improvements
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and agency stakeholders
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, manage scope, schedule, and budget
• Ensure compliance with MUTCD, HCM, and AASHTO standards
• Assist with business development and client relations
