Job summary

Fuss & O’Neill in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead and support transportation projects that improve safety, mobility, and efficiency across communities. You will guide traffic analyses, signal improvements, and DOT/municipal work, delivering high-quality designs and reports.

The role requires a PE licensure (or the ability to obtain within six months), a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 6+ years of experience; proficiency with SYNCHRO and SIDRA and CAD/GIS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Typically 6+ years of experience in traffic engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (or ability to obtain within six months).
• Proficiency in traffic simulation software (SYNCHRO, SIDRA).
• Experience with DOT/municipal project design and plan preparation requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects and maintain documentation.
• Develop traffic impact studies, including trip generation and capacity analysis.
• Lead traffic signal design and safety improvement projects.
• Oversee traffic counts, analyze data, and identify patterns and trends.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and use traffic simulation software.
