Fuss & O’Neill in Massachusetts is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to lead transportation projects that improve safety, mobility, and efficiency across communities. You will oversee traffic impact studies, data analysis, and design improvements while collaborating with experienced professionals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Typically requires 6+ years of experience.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
• Proficiency in traffic simulation software (Synchro and SIDRA).
• Knowledge of CAD (MicroStation/Connect, InRoads/OpenRoads; AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS).
• Experience with DOT project design and plan preparation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects and keep documentation organized.
• Develop technical traffic reports and documents for DOT, municipalities and private developers.
• Develop and conduct traffic impact studies, including trip generation, capacity analysis, and crash/safety analysis.
• Develop traffic signal design and manage design of safety improvement projects.
• Oversee traffic counts, analyze data, and identify patterns and trends.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams using traffic simulation software (SYNCHRO and SIDRA).
• Design transportation plans and systems to improve safety, efficiency, and mobility.
• Stay informed about advances in transportation engineering and relevant regulations.
