Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
• Experience with DOT project design and plan preparation requirements.
• Proficiency in traffic simulation software including SYNCHRO and SIDRA.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects, and keeping documentation organized.
• Develop technical traffic reports and documents for DOT, municipalities and private developers.
• Develop and conduct traffic impact studies, including trip generation, capacity analysis, and crash/safety analysis.
• Develop traffic signal design and manage design of safety improvement projects.
• Oversight of traffic counts, analyze traffic data, and identify patterns and trends to understand current traffic conditions and potential future needs.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and other engineers, including the use of traffic simulation software.
• Design transportation plans and design transportation systems to improve safety, efficiency, and mobility.
• Stay informed about advances in transportation engineering and technology, as well as relevant regulations and standards.
