Job summary

Econolite is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer in Anaheim, CA to plan, design, and optimize traffic signal operations for intersections, corridors, and regional networks. You will develop timing strategies and perform operational analyses to support Centracs Mobility deployments.

The ideal candidate brings 8–15 years in traffic engineering or ITS, plus proficiency with Synchro, SimTraffic, PTV Vissim, Visum, and Vistro, and strong client-facing communication skills. Travel 25–50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8–15 years of progressive experience in traffic engineering or ITS.
• Experience developing, deploying, and validating traffic signal timing plans for public agencies.
• Proficiency with traffic engineering and simulation software (Synchro, SimTraffic, PTV Vissim, Visum, Vistro).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout project lifecycles for deployment and operations.
• Develop, implement, and optimize traffic signal timing plans for intersections and corridors.
• Conduct traffic operations analyses using Centracs Mobility and related tools.
• Evaluate signal performance and validate improvements through field data and performance measures.
• Support integration of detection, transit priority, and multimodal strategies.
• Participate in design reviews, pilots, and development of operational concepts.
• Deliver technical training and customer support to agency personnel.
