Job summary
Wilson & Company is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Midwest transportation planning and engineering team. This role will lead traffic design projects, safety evaluations, and multimodal facility analysis for state and local agency clients, including design-build opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in traffic engineering, a PE license in MO/KS/NE (or ability to obtain within six months), and experience with Synchro, VISSIM, GIS, and CAD; MUTCD and AASHTO knowledge
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Licensure: PE in MO, KS, or NE, or ability to obtain within six months.
- Certification: PTOE and/or RSP Levels 1/2 preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in traffic engineering and design.
- Technical: Proficiency in Synchro, VISSIM, GIS, and CAD; familiarity with MUTCD/AASHTO.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage traffic design and traffic operation projects and tasks.
- Provide design oversight for roadway lighting, signing, pavement markings, signals, and ITS systems.
- Develop technical traffic analyses for highways, streets, and multimodal facilities.
- Oversee MOT and sequencing during construction.
- Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative environment.
- Support proposals, client relationships, and marketing efforts.
