Job summary

Garver in Fayetteville, AR is seeking a Traffic Analysis Engineer with 4-8 years of experience to join our growing traffic and transportation planning team. The role involves performing traffic and safety studies, simulations, and developing access plans for DOT and municipal clients within our footprint.

The ideal candidate will have PE licensure (or be able to obtain within 6 months), strong communication skills, and proficiency with VISSIM/CORSIM, Synchro, HCS, and ArcGIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree for an ABET accredited engineering program.
• 4 - 8 years of experience with traffic specific projects.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) or have ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual & Trip Generation Manual is required
• Working knowledge in capacity analysis, traffic projections, and safety analysis (including HSM) is required
• Working knowledge of traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS is required
• Experience in analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Performing traffic and safety studies
• Performing traffic simulation and level of service analysis
• Developing access management plans and lane configurations for new or modified alignments
• Developing traffic signal timing plans
• Preparing summary documentation and reports
• Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and communicating concepts to clients
• Assisting with project management to identify project scopes, fees, and monitoring project progress.
• Maintaining a client-focused, service attitude by tracking budgets, and keeping projects on schedule.
• Preparing project proposals and giving interviews for project pursuits
• Performing direct client marketing and developing relationships with existing clients within our service area
• Mentoring less experienced staff
