Job summary

Garver, in North Little Rock, AR, is seeking a Traffic Analysis Engineer to join our growing transportation planning team. The ideal candidate brings 5-10 years of traffic-focused experience and a strong technical background to analyze and design projects for DOT and municipal clients within our footprint.

This role involves traffic and safety studies, capacity and LOS analysis, signal timing, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 4-8 years of experience with traffic-specific projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual & Trip Generation Manual is required.
• Working knowledge in capacity analysis, traffic projections, and safety analysis (including HSM).
• Working knowledge of traffic simulation programs (VISSIM, CORSIM, etc.), Synchro, and HCS.
• Experience in analyzing intersections, interchanges, and roundabouts.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Performing traffic and safety studies
• Performing traffic simulation and level of service analysis
• Developing access management plans and lane configurations for new or modified alignments
• Developing traffic signal timing plans
• Preparing summary documentation and reports
• Coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and communicating concepts to clients
• Assisting with project management to identify project scopes, fees, and monitoring project progress.
• Maintaining a client-focused, service attitude by tracking budgets, and keeping projects on schedule.
• Preparing project proposals and giving interviews for project pursuits
• Performing direct client marketing and developing relationships with existing clients within our service area
• Mentoring less experienced staff
