Job summary

Egis in Sacramento, CA is seeking an Engineer, Traction Power to lead technical design and integration of traction power systems for complex infrastructure projects. You will guide projects from design through energization, coordinating with utilities and multidisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 6+ years of experience, and a strong background in substations, MV distribution, and SCADA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 6+ years of experience supporting power systems, electrical infrastructure, utility, medium-voltage, transportation, or industrial projects.
• Experience delivering electrical systems through design, construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and operational acceptance.
• Experience with substations, medium-voltage distribution systems, utility interconnections, protective relays, SCADA systems, or power monitoring systems.
• Strong understanding of power system integration, utility coordination, engineering design, and multidisciplinary infrastructure delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and review technical deliverables, coordinate contractors and stakeholders, and support construction, commissioning, and operational readiness activities on complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and provide technical oversight for traction power and related systems through lifecycle.
• Support requirements management, technical reviews, and engineering studies across teams.
• Review deliverables, calculations, specs, equipment selections, submittals, and docs for standards.
• Coordinate interfaces between power systems, utilities, SCADA, signaling, and facilities.
• Support utility coordination, permitting, regulatory approvals, interconnection activities, and docs.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing, energization, and field issue resolution.
• Participate in system integration, readiness, defect resolution, and final turnover of electrical infra.
