Job summary

Egis is seeking an Engineer, Traction Power in our Sacramento, CA office. This role provides technical leadership from design through energization and handover for traction power and related electrical systems.

The ideal candidate will have power systems, substations, MV distribution, utility coordination, and multidisciplinary infrastructure project experience, plus a PE license and 6+ years of relevant work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE license required.
• 6+ years of experience in power systems and infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering electrical systems through design, construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and acceptance.
• Experience with substations, MV distribution, interconnections, relays, SCADA, and monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee traction power, MV, and auxiliary power systems across design to handover.
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary project teams and conduct technical reviews.
• Review deliverables, specs, and submittals for compliance with standards.
• Interface between power systems, utilities, SCADA, signaling, and facilities.
• Support permitting, interconnection, and regulatory documentation.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing, energization, and issue resolution.
• Assist in system integration, readiness, defect resolution, and turnover.
