Job summary

Pencil is building the operating system for AI-powered marketing, a SaaS platform using Generative AI to redefine how brands plan, produce and deploy advertising. The Lead Technical Program Manager owns cross-team programs, from intake to delivery, ensuring realistic commitments to Tier 1 clients while maintaining rigour in a fast-moving AI-native environment.

This senior role partners with engineering leads, product managers and client-facing teams, reporting into the Principal TPM.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, ideally in AI/ML, platform infrastructure, or developer tooling.
• Track record independently running complex programs with multi-team dependencies and hard external deadlines.
• Experience owning engineering delivery for enterprise or Tier 1 clients: managing their requests and setting realistic commitments.

Responsibilities

• Own the program for Tier 1 client engineering requests: intake, scoping, sequencing and delivery tracking.
• Design and run the operating cadence for your area of the product and engineering organisation.
• Own the workback plans and dependency maps for the programs in your portfolio.
• Independently run cross-team programs including feature launches, client integrations and migrations.
• Provide expert advice on complex delivery decisions and translate engineering reality for stakeholders.
