Job summary

Disney Consumer Products, Inc. is seeking a Product Designer, Hardlines, to create dynamic toys and packaging for Disney Pixar properties.

You will collaborate with licensees to extend Disney storytelling through action figures, vehicles, plush and roleplay, ensuring design excellence and timely approvals. This onsite Glendale, CA role is a 12-month project or IA assignment with potential for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent years of relevant design experience.
• 2 years of related experience designing toys, from concept through production.
• Solid knowledge in hardlines categories (raw materials, plastic, textiles, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; strong product design skills and software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for product design and packaging development for Disney Pixar toys including action figures, vehicles, plush, and roleplay.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with Licensees and Vendors.
• Works with licensees in all creative aspects of product development.
• Handles product approvals including creative revisions and using OPA for approvals.
• Ensures product design excellence by making character and product corrections and creating new artwork.
• Applies knowledge of new trends and innovation in marketplace.
• Presents and sells ideas to management, cross-functional partners, and licensees.
• Coordinates with Manager on new projects and deadlines.
• Works directly with key content partners at Pixar Studios and manages product feedback for licensees.
• Limited domestic travel for onsite product approval with licensees and trade shows.
