Job summary

Jobot in Montebello, CA is seeking a Senior Total Rewards & Payroll Specialist to lead end-to-end payroll, benefits, and compensation programs. You will partner with HR and finance to ensure accuracy, compliance, and a positive employee experience across reward functions.

This role requires 5+ years of payroll/benefits/compensation experience, multistate payroll knowledge, and proficiency with HRIS systems like Rippling or ADP. It offers an on-site environment with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, HR, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in payroll, benefits, and/or compensation administration.
• Multistate payroll experience is desired.
• Strong knowledge of federal, multi-state, and local payroll tax laws.
• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll software (Rippling, ADP).
• Certified Payroll Professional or similar certification preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience within logistics, manufacturing, warehouse operations, transportation, or supply chain industries is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate, timely bi-weekly or semi-monthly payrolls for multiple states and locations.
• Review, reconcile, and validate timecard data, time-off transactions, and payroll previews before submission.
• Maintain employee payroll records, including pay changes, deductions, and direct deposit updates.
• Process separation pays, garnishments, and other special payroll transactions in compliance with laws.
• Review quarterly and annual tax reporting, including W 2s and 1099s.
• Administer core and ancillary benefits (health, welfare, retirement, charitable giving, etc.).
• Manage open enrollment, benefit changes, and leave of absence processing.
• Support 401(k) and other retirement plan administration.
• Support annual compensation reviews and benchmarking.
• Provide pay structure recommendations and job-specific pay analysis.
• Collaborate with HR and finance to ensure pay equity and compliance.
• Partner with HRIS (Rippling) and payroll/benefits vendors to resolve issues and maintain strong relationships.
• Optimize processes, reduce errors, and improve efficiency.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analytics management.
