Job summary

RTX's Pratt & Whitney Holt, Michigan facility is seeking a Senior Tooling Engineer to ensure the design, manufacture, readiness, and quality of tools, fixtures, and gauges that enable reliable production across our sites. The Senior Tooling Engineer will lead full‑lifecycle tooling activities—from concept through handover—design molds/dies for aerospace components, and create jigs/fixtures.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Program Management to meet

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in engineering/manufacturing/quality tool design or similar environment.
Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM systems such as Pro/Engineer (Creo) and Siemens NX; ability to build complex models and toolpaths.
Deep NX skills in modeling, drafting, and manufacturing modules; troubleshoot design issues.

Responsibilities

Lead full-lifecycle tooling activities—from concept/design to installation, prove-out and handover.
Design molds/dies for aerospace components involving sheet metals and composites.
Create assembly/detail models and perform dimensional verification using Pro/Engineer/Creo and NX.
Develop tool specifications and procurement docs; coordinate tool builds.
Coordinate with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Program Management.
Establish standard processes for tooling crib and 3D printer management.
