Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is looking for a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer in Carlsbad, California to support the manufacturing maturation of Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) turbine components. This position involves designing tooling for various manufacturing processes and ensuring quality through established best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, extensive CAD experience, and at least 5 years of engineering experience. Benefits and relocation packages are included.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Engineering experience, or 3+ years with an advanced degree.
• Ability to implement corrections based on root cause investigations.
• Demonstrated experience with tooling for composite or ceramic processing in aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling for manufacturing CMCs.
• Establish best design practices for tooling.
• Support automation implementation to improve process quality.
• Monitor and improve OEE through Total Productive Maintenance.

Skills

Proficiency with CAD tools (NX, CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks)

In-depth knowledge of GD&T principles

Experience with manufacturing processes and assembly techniques

Experience designing molds and tooling

Understanding of additive manufacturing

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
