Job summary

Pratt & Whitney seeks a Lead Engineer to drive Manufacturing Readiness Levels for Ceramic Matrix Composites, bridging R&D to production. You will lead planning, coordinate SMEs, and develop scalable CMC manufacturing processes to meet program goals while improving yield and cost efficiency.

The role is onsite in Carlsbad, CA, requiring strong collaboration with design, process, and supply chain teams and a focus on DFx input for producibility and readiness milestones.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
• 8+ years in aerospace manufacturing or 5+ years with an advanced degree.
• Proven experience planning and executing MRL advancement.
• Familiarity with quality systems and root cause analysis tools.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to program information.

Responsibilities

• Lead MRL planning, assessment, and execution for CMC technologies.
• Coordinate CMC SMEs to ensure alignment across teams and partners.
• Develop robust, scalable manufacturing processes for CMC components.
• Identify readiness gaps and develop plans to reach target levels.
• Drive continuous improvement in yield, capability, and cost.
• Mentor engineers on MRL frameworks and advanced materials.
