Job summary

K&S Manufacturing in Ixonia, WI is seeking a Journeyman Tool & Die Maker to support a metal stamping operation on 1st shift. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and improve progressive dies and stamping tools to ensure reliable production and high part quality.

You will read engineering drawings, work with precision tooling, and collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and drive tooling improvements that reduce scrap and costs.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level training or equivalent apprenticeship completed.
• Minimum 10 years of hands-on tool and die experience in metal stamping.
• Experience repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting stamping dies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and die prints.
• Proficiency with manual mills, lathes, grinders, and precision measurement tools.
• Knowledge of die design concepts, strip layouts, and tooling optimization.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and modify stamping dies and tools.
• Diagnose die-related production issues and reduce downtime.
• Perform die repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with die setup, changes, and production startups.
• Operate tool room equipment and verify tolerances with precision tools.
• Read drawings and GD&T to ensure tooling meets specs.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams.
