Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Die Process Engineer in Illinois to lead stamping process and die development for new model parts. You will drive feasibility studies, PFMEA, CAD modeling, and die construction, collaborating across teams to meet cost and quality targets.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Tool & Die Journeyman's Card with 5+ years in stamping, CAD proficiency, PFMEA, and lean manufacturing experience. On-site position with comprehensive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and/or Tool & Die Journeyman's Card required.
• 5+ years of related stamping experience.
• 2 years minimum in at least one stamping area: Die Processing, Progressive Dies CAD Draw Development, Die Design/Construction, or Tryout.
• CAD skills required.
• Able to read stamping die designs, both manual and CAD.
• PFMEA proficiency required.
• MS Office proficiency (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
• Strong communication and lean manufacturing experience.
• Leadership in ONE FORD behaviors with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of stamping processes and die layouts for new model parts.
• Provide liaison for die feasibility, layout development, die design, construction, tryout and buyoff.
• Lead creation of draw die CAD Developments and Release Files.
• Lead PFMEA for new model stampings.
• Update die process information for improvements and carryover releases.
• Participate in cost requests for new model costing and proposals.
• Provide primary engineering support to N/C, machining, construction, tryout and buyoff of dies.
• Support stamping feasibility and die process engineering with die design investigations.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models defining stamping die engineering intent.
• Design die draws, trim/pierce & flange (including CAMs) for current programs.
• Check vendor designs using Virtual Verification tools.
• Develop generic die architecture models based on PDPD.
• Review feedback and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Collaborate with customers to improve deliverables.
