Job summary

Serco Inc. in New Orleans, LA seeks a TMC Senior Operator to support the Louisiana DOTD in traffic management and incident response.

You will work with DOTD personnel statewide, law enforcement, and first responders, applying advanced TMC expertise and independent decision-making. This role requires coordinating with ITS and traffic operations staff, logging incidents, and developing traffic management plans for events and emergencies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• 1 year experience as a TMC or similar Operator.
• 1-2 years customer support experience within the last three years.
• Availability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• English language speaking and writing skills to compose clear and concise sentences without spelling or grammatical errors.
• Ability to complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Operate ATMS iNet to control and monitor field devices (CCTV, DMS, ramp meters, emergency gates).
• Monitor video images for incident detection and log confirmed incidents and closures.
• Communicate and dispatch MAP units via radio or phone with clear directions to incidents.
• Coordinate with DOTD district staff, local agencies, and public safety entities to manage incidents and traffic.
• Maintain records, update manuals and contact lists, and participate in training and performance evaluations.
• Engage in TM operations, incident management and traveler information dissemination as part of the role.
