Job summary

Huntress is a remote-first cybersecurity company seeking a Senior DE&TH Analyst to impede threats via detection engineering and proactive threat hunting across millions of endpoints. You will develop high-fidelity detections, review ambiguous signs, and work with a 24x7 SOC to protect partner environments.

You will design resilient detection portfolios, analyze attacker tradecraft, and translate intel into actionable detections, while collaborating with engineering across multiple domains.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in detection engineering, threat hunting, SOC, MDR, or incident response.
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows internals.
• Working knowledge of Linux, macOS, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Google Workspace.
• Experience developing, testing, tuning, and documenting detections or analytics from threat intelligence, IOCs, hypotheses, or real-world investigations.
• Ability to communicate findings through clear written reports.
• Strong familiarity with detection languages such as Sigma, Suricata, Snort, or YARA, and query languages such as KQL, EQL, ES|QL, or Splunk SPL.
• A good understanding of adversary tradecraft and attacker roles.
• Ability to orchestrate reusable AI workflows for threat hunting and detection development.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to detection lifecycle by creating rules, testing before deployment, monitoring efficacy, and tuning rules.
• Develop rules across Huntress products and OSes (ITDR, SIEM, EDR, Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Manage DE&TH requests from partners.
• Undertake hypothesis-driven hunts across telemetry and prioritize techniques.
• Translate threat intel into detections via Git-based workflows.
• Build and refine hunting dashboards or queries to surface intrusions.
• Review ambiguous signs of attacker activity and surface likely intrusions for investigation.
• Prepare incident reports with clear guidance for partners.
• Contribute to community content and use AI-assisted workflows in core tasks.
