Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado (Denver) is seeking a Thermo-Fluids Analyst to join the MK1 Fluids team within the Lunar Permanence program. You will conduct thermo-fluid analyses across the development lifecycle, from design through build, test and integration, using 0D-1D tools and validating models with test data.

The role requires a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 4–5 years of related experience, and a strong grounding in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 4-5 years of relevant thermal/fluids analysis experience.
• Deep understanding of fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with thermo-fluids 0D-1D modeling using Thermal Desktop/Sinda/Fluint.
• Experience with cryogenic, two-phase, and/or gaseous fluid systems.
• Proven track record validating thermo-fluid models from concept through test validation.
• Experience anchoring fluid analysis models to test data.
• U.S. citizen or eligible resident required.

Responsibilities

• Collect analysis inputs from stakeholders and responsible engineers.
• Develop new or modify existing thermo-fluid analysis models to represent vehicle configuration and behavior.
• Post process analysis results to draw engineering conclusions from output data.
• Author and publish analysis reports in Windchill to support engineering decision making.
• Generate and present design review and trade study content to partners and customers.
• Anchor thermo-fluid analysis models to component and vehicle test data.
