Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced Thermal Analysis Engineer to lead system-level thermal analyses for the Lunar Permanence program. You will own modeling, validation, and integration of thermal analyses across spacecraft subsystems, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery for gate reviews.

The role requires deep expertise in Thermal Desktop/Sinda, strong collaboration with propulsion and structure teams, and a track record of mentoring junior analysts.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
• 10 years of Thermal Analysis experience using Thermal Desktop/Sinda.
• Advanced knowledge of first-principle heat transfer and its application to spaceflight systems.
• In-depth knowledge of spacecraft thermal hardware and their performance characteristics.
• Expert-level proficiency in Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint.
• Experience verifying thermal system requirements via analysis products.
• Ability to earn trust and contribute to an inclusive culture.

Responsibilities

• Drive the approach and quality of system-level thermal analysis for the Thermal Subsystem.
• Own delivery of thermal analysis for the spacecraft system, interfacing with other vehicles.
• Develop and maintain modeling standards and system model integration.
• Support thermal design and architecture coordination with engineers across subsystems.
• Build thermal models in Thermal Desktop/Sinda from inputs by external teams.
• Integrate submodels into a detailed system model and manage analysis cases.
• Document results and present to internal review boards and program gated reviews.
• Lead and mentor early-career analysis engineers.
