Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced Thermal Systems Engineer to lead the architecture and analysis of spacecraft thermal control for space electro-mechanical and avionics systems. You will define strategies, select solutions, and develop high-fidelity models correlated to test data.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive design reviews, and mentor junior engineers while delivering robust thermal systems for challenging environments in a fast-paced aerospace program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years in thermal systems engineering for space/aerospace (Senior) or 15+ years (Principal).
• Experience designing and analyzing spacecraft thermal control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the thermal control system architecture and design for space electro-mechanical and avionics systems across all program phases.
• Define thermal control strategies and select appropriate solutions (passive/active, MLI, radiators, heat pipes, etc.).
• Conduct comprehensive thermal analyses (steady-state, transient, trajectory-dependent) and develop high-fidelity TMMs.
• Develop and execute thermal test plans (TVAC, cycling) and correlate models to test data.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional teams to deliver thermal system products.
