Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior Thermal Analysis Lead to own system-level thermal simulations for spacecraft, driving modeling standards and cross-team collaboration. You will mentor junior engineers while delivering verified analyses to support mission-critical thermal design decisions.

You will work within the Lunar Permanence unit, interfacing with Thermal Systems Engineers and other vehicle subsystems to ensure robust thermal solutions for lunar missions.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 10 years of Thermal Analysis experience using Thermal Desktop/Sinda.
• Advanced knowledge of first-principle heat transfer for spaceflight systems.
• In-depth knowledge of spacecraft thermal hardware and performance.
• Expert-level proficiency in Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint.
• Experience verifying thermal system requirements via analysis products.
• Ability to earn trust and contribute to an inclusive culture.
• U.S. citizen/national or eligible status.

Responsibilities

• Drive the approach and quality of the system-level thermal analysis for the Thermal Subsystem.
• Own the delivery of thermal analysis of the spacecraft system and interface with other vehicles.
• Develop and maintain modeling standards and system model integration.
• Support thermal design and architecture with Thermal Systems Engineers and subsystems counterparts.
• Build thermal models in Thermal Desktop/Sinda from inputs of external teams.
• Integrate submodels into a detailed system model across contributors.
• Predict and review component temperatures and heater power across mission phases.
• Document results and present at internal reviews and program gated reviews.
• Lead and mentor early-career analysis engineers.
