Job summary

Blue Bird Corporation seeks a Senior Vehicle Thermal Systems Engineer todefine the vehicle-level cooling strategy for our next-generation commercial chassis platform from concept through production launch.

You will own engine and transmission cooling, HVAC integration, and heat rejection performance, working across propulsion, chassis, controls, validation, and suppliers to ensure design feasibility and launch readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering with emphasis in thermal sciences.
• 7+ years developing vehicle cooling, thermal architectures, or HVAC systems for mobile platforms.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident; authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the vehicle-level cooling architecture for commercial chassis.
• Design and optimize cooling modules, radiators, pumps and ducts.
• Lead chassis integration balancing heat rejection, packaging and reliability.
• Develop thermal strategies for high ambient conditions and extended idle.
• Perform 1D/3D thermal-fluid analyses to optimize cooling performance.
• Collaborate with controls, validation, suppliers, and manufacturing.
