Job summary

Prometheus Energetics, a U.S.-based contractor, seeks an experienced Thermal Systems Engineer to own design, modeling, testing, and lifecycle integration of TPS and ablative nozzle components for solid rocket motors.

The role requires 4–10 years in aerothermal or high-temperature materials engineering, strong modeling skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams, meet ITAR/EAR standards, and support production readiness.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of relevant TPS/thermal engineering experience.
• Experience with transient thermal analysis and high-temperature material behavior.

Responsibilities

• Lead TPS design, material selection, and qualification for solid rocket motor assemblies.
• Develop and maintain 1D–3D transient thermal models using industry tools.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate subscale screening and material characterization tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff in thermal analysis techniques.
• Ensure ITAR/EAR compliance and safety standards across design and lab operations.
