Job summary

Ursa Major in Colorado is seeking a Senior Thermal/Ablation Analyst to perform high-fidelity thermal analyses ensuring performance and reliability of propulsion and defense systems. You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to support development, qualification, and production programs.

Responsibilities include thermal modeling under extreme conditions, transient and steady-state analyses, and validating models against test data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 4+ years of thermal analysis experience in aerospace.
• Proficiency with finite element and computational thermal analysis tools.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and test data.
• Strong problem-solving in a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thermal modeling for components and systems under extreme operating conditions.
• Perform transient and steady-state analyses using FE/thermal tools.
• Develop and validate analytical models with Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, ITRAC.
• Assess insulation and ablative materials for TPS effectiveness.
• Correlate predictions with test data and refine models.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing to optimize thermal performance.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Support design reviews, investigations, and continuous improvement.
