Job summary

Averro is seeking a Senior Thermal-Fluid Analyst in Oak Brook, IL to perform thermal and structural analyses for reactor components, build FEA models, and ensure NRC compliance.

You will collaborate with mechanical, systems, and licensing teams, defend results to regulators, and contribute to documentation. Requires 5+ years in relevant fields and proficiency with ANSYS/COMSOL/Abaqus and NX CAD.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on analysis experience with thermal-fluid systems, pressure vessels, or high-temperature components.
• Proficiency with ANSYS, COMSOL, Abaqus, or similar tools, including importing NX CAD models into analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Nuclear, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal and structural analyses (heat transfer, thermal stress, fluid mechanics) for reactor components
• Build and run FEA and simulation models for steady-state, transient, and accident conditions
• Document analyses for NRC compliance and defend results to engineering peers and regulators
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and licensing teams; flag unverified design assumptions
