Job summary

Aalo Atomics in Austin, TX seeks a Senior/Principal Finite Element Analyst to lead thermomechanical and structural analysis for advanced sodium-cooled reactor systems. You will own high-consequence FEA for reactor structures and hot components, collaborating with design, nuclear, materials, and licensing teams to translate physics into defensible engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, nuclear, civil/structural, or aerospace engineering.
• 10+ years of professional FEA experience in high-consequence environments.
• Deep understanding of structural mechanics and thermomechanics.
• Experience with NASTRAN for multiple analysis types.
• Knowledge of ASME III and nuclear design standards.
• Ability to define load cases, boundary conditions, and verification strategies.
• Proven ability to write clear technical documentation and defend results.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain finite element models for reactor components and systems.
• Perform linear and nonlinear structural, thermal, fatigue, and seismic analyses.
• Evaluate components against ASME III and nuclear design codes.
• Contribute to modeling standards, verification, and templates.
• Prepare reports and calculations for licensing reviews.
