Job summary

DNV Energy Systems North America is seeking a Gas Generation Power Senior Engineer SME with deep experience in conventional and flexible thermal generation to support our energy advisory services across Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Independent Engineering (IE), and Owner’s Engineering (OE).

This role is designed for engineers with practical operating and design experience who can evaluate plant performance, reliability, and lifecycle risk, then translate findings into decision-grade technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or related).
• Minimum of five years in thermal power generation.
• Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear insights for stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the thermal technical lead across advisory engagements involving gas turbines, steam turbines, boiler systems, and related technologies.
• Lead technical evaluations of assets, identify risks, value drivers, and lifecycle considerations.
• Assess plant condition and performance using operating history, outages, and maintenance records.
• Support technical due diligence and owner’s engineering scopes, including review of plant design and major equipment configurations.
