Job summary

RTX is seeking a mid-level Senior Thermal Engineer in Tucson, AZ to perform detailed thermal analyses across the product lifecycle from design studies to production support. You will use hand calculations and finite element tools to solve challenging problems and present results to customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include planning tests, data reduction, model correlation, and leading technical work streams while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of experience.
• Experience in thermal analysis using ANSYS, PATRAN, or Thermal Desktop/SINDA.
• Strong knowledge of heat transfer, mechanics, and independent work capabilities.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance and US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to define scope of higher detail analyses.
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses to address program challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and ensure hardware compliance to requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
