RTX, a premier aerospace and defense company, is seeking a mid-level Senior Thermal Engineer for the Mechanical Analysis and Test department at our Tucson, AZ facility. The role focuses on detailed thermal analyses across product lifecycles from design to production, using hand calculations and FE tools to deliver robust solutions.

Responsibilities include test planning, data reduction, model correlation, and peer reviews.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) required.
• 5+ years of relevant thermal analysis experience.
• Experience with ANSYS, PATRAN, or Thermal Desktop/SINDA.
• Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance.

Mansioni

• Perform hand calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models.
• Perform detailed thermal analyses to solve program thermal challenges.
• Generate test plans required to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Work with experienced analysts on problems of moderate complexity to provide the answers needed under program cost and schedule constraints.
• Review your work with peers to ensure technical accuracy.
• Present results to internal, external, and government customers.
• May travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities.
• Generate detailed documentation of work and archive for reference.
• Act as a technical leader and/or lead analysis/test teams.
• Travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities.
