RTX is seeking a mid-level Senior Thermal Engineer for the MA&T Department at the Tucson, AZ facility. You will perform thermal analyses on products throughout their lifecycle, from design studies to production support, using hand calculations and finite element tools, and will present results for peer reviews and customer communication.

Responsibilities include developing test plans, data reduction, model correlation, and technical leadership to define processes and tools within MA&T.

Competenze

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5+ years of relevant experience; Master’s/PhD may substitute for experience
• Experience in thermal analysis using ANSYS, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or equivalent
• Experience in thermal testing: planning, execution, data reduction and correlation
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required; clearance must be active and transferable

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher detail analysis models
• Conduct detailed thermal analyses to address program challenges
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware against requirements
• Analyze test data to validate/correlate models
• Collaborate with peers to ensure technical accuracy and cost/schedule compliance
• Present results to internal, external and government customers
• May travel to government facilities to support program activities
• Produce detailed documentation and archive for reference
• Act as technical leader and/or lead analysis/test teams
• Travel to government/facility sites as needed
