Job summary

RTX is seeking a mid-level Senior Thermal Engineer for the MA&T Department in Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on detailed thermal analyses across the product lifecycle, from early design studies to production support.

The candidate should have a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, experience with ANSYS/PATRAN/Thermal Desktop, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance. It is an onsite position with opportunities to lead teams and coordinate with government customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Experience in thermal analysis with ANSYS, PATRAN, Thermal Desktop/SINDA or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand calculations to scope higher detail analysis models.
• Perform detailed thermal analyses to solve program challenges.
• Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance to requirements.
• Analyze test data to validate and correlate models.
• Lead and review analyses with peers under cost and schedule constraints.
• Present results to internal, external and government customers.
• May travel to government facilities to support program activities.
• Generate detailed documentation of work for archival reference.
• Act as technical leader and help refine MA&T processes and tools.
